Hartlepool Advanced Motorists is the only Group in the Hartlepool area that can provide the skills to teach drivers to become Advanced Drivers.  We are a registered charity and rely on donations to keep us running. The training is done voluntarily by our skilled instructors on a 1:1 basis.  Nationally the pass rate for the Advanced Test is 70%; in Hartlepool we proudly boast a 95% success rate.  Our sole aim is to improve road safety. This is achieved by improving driver skills and training drivers to become Advanced Motorists.

Being an advanced driver or rider is a journey of continuous learning, and one of its key stages is the internationally recognised Advanced Test. Pioneered by the IAM, it is this for which we are perhaps best known.

There is, however, much more.   Established in 1956, the IAM is the UK’s leading road safety organisation dedicated to raising driving and riding standards and reducing the number of collisions that occur on our roads.   Widely respected in its field, the IAM advises, and is consulted by, leading organisations world-wide with responsibilities for Road Safety
